Asheville Art, Music & Theatre

Beaufort House bed and breakfast is in the middle Asheville's music and cultural scene, alive with a diverse selection of art galleries, music festivals, and performances in a variety of venues near our Bed and Breakfast. Live-music venues host a regular lineup of top-shelf bands from all over the country, and Asheville is constantly listed as one of the nation's top destinations for art and craft.
  • River Arts District near downtown Asheville is home to 200 artists' studios and galleries, situated in a refurbished warehouse district by the French Broad River.
  • Folk Art Center is our favorite stop to learn about and see amazing local art and craft. Shop in the big gallery of contemporary and traditional folk art of the Appalachians and see rotating exhibitions and artists at work. It is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville.
  • Asheville Art Museum recently completed an expansion and impressive renovation. It is home to a very impressive collection and visiting exhibitions in the middle of downtown.
  • Downtown Asheville is home to 30 galleries, including the longtime favorite Blue Spiral Gallery with three floors of contemporary fine art.
  • The Orange Peel is one of the top music venues on the East Coast. It brings music acts from all over the world to town every week throughout the year.
  • Shindig on the Green each summer in downtown Asheville presents a big variety of local mountain music and dance on stage in Pack Square Park.
  • The Grey Eagle music venue features both well-known and up-and-coming musical acts from around the country in an intimate and casual environment.
  • Wortham Center for Performing Arts in the center of downtown Asheville has top-notch international acts, performing throughout the year.
  • Downtown After Five presents a big, free concert on Lexington Avenue in downtown Asheville. The street is closed to traffic, and music, drink, food and festivities abound during this fun event.
  • Grovewood Gallery features an impressive variety of beautiful art, craft and jewelry. It is located nearby behind the nearby Grove Park Inn.
  • New Morning Gallery in Biltmore Village has handcrafted, original works of art, many from regional and national artists.
  • Asheville Community Theatre is the oldest continually operating theater in Asheville, once the theatrical home to Charleton Heston when he lived at Beaufort House Inn.
  • North Carolina Stage Company in downtown Asheville is a small intimate theatre, composed of professional equity actors who put on exceptional dramatic productions year round.
